3. Built-In Private Toilet and Vanity
One of the standout features of this custom build is the integration of a private toilet within the 40ft container.
The bathroom includes:
Toilet suite
Handwashing basin and vanity cabinet
Wall-mounted mirror
Exhaust ventilation
Non-slip bathroom flooring
The plumbing layout also includes connection points for the site's water supply and wastewater system.
Having a dedicated toilet within the gym provides additional convenience, particularly at remote mining camps where shared amenities may be located elsewhere on site.
4. Wall-Mounted TV, Windows and LED Lighting
To create a more comfortable and inviting workout environment, the gym includes a wall-mounted TV, two windows and recessed LED ceiling lights.
The windows allow natural daylight into the space, helping the interior feel brighter and more open.
The TV provides entertainment during workout sessions, while the LED lighting offers consistent illumination throughout the gym.
These features help transform the container from a basic industrial structure into a modern recreational facility.

The container features a fully insulated interior with clean white wall and ceiling panels, creating a bright, modern and welcoming workout environment.

A stainless steel folding table has been incorporated into the design to provide a convenient surface when required. The foldable design allows the table to be tucked away when not in use, helping maximise the available floor space.

6. Durable Gym Flooring and Interior Finishes
The interior features 15mm gym flooring designed to provide a practical surface for exercise activities.
Aluminium checker plate protection has also been installed along the lower sections of the walls, providing a durable finish suited to regular use.
In the toilet area, the non-slip flooring adds an appropriate finish for the wet-area environment.
Together, these materials create a clean, practical and low-maintenance space designed around its intended use.
Built with Remote-Site Requirements in Mind
Beyond the interior design, this custom-built gym incorporates essential electrical, plumbing and safety features to support its intended use in a mining camp.
The design includes a 32A three-phase power inlet, electrical outlets, smoke alarm, emergency exit lighting, bathroom ventilation and plumbing connections.
These features demonstrate how a shipping container can be modified into a purpose-built facility that supports the practical requirements of remote-site operations.
The transportable container structure also provides flexibility for projects where facilities may need to be relocated, subject to site access, transport and installation requirements.
